Save $250 on an Nvidia RTX gaming laptop for real-time ray tracing on the go

The HP July 4 sale is live now and full of deals on hardware and peripherals for all PC users, gamers and creatives alike. If you like to play games on the go, or to hook up a laptop to desk peripherals, you might want to check out the OMEN 15 gaming laptop. While beastly in its own right with a GTX 1650 as standard, you can upgrade it with an RTX 2060 to create a mobile machine capable of real-time ray tracing and, with the HP sale, still keep the price under a grand.

The OMEN 15 laptop features a 9th-gen Intel i5 CPU, 8GB of memory, 256GB SSD storage, and a 15.6″ 1080p display. The standard model, as mentioned, has a GTX 1650 for its GPU – more than enough to run most modern games at high settings. With the 25% sale discount, that spec comes in at $750.

But if you’d like to carry the power to trace 5 billion rays around in your pocket, you can replace the 1650 with an RTX 2060. This will bump the price to $999.99, which is nonetheless $250 lower than it would be without the sale. Bargain.

You can take a look at the OMEN 15 on the HP sale here. If you fancy adding the 2060, just click the blue ‘customize and buy’ button, and select the +$250 upgrade that you’ll notice on the next page.
